Worked on commercial/industrial work as well as domestic getting a good view of different industries. Gaining my 2391 shortly before coming into teaching.
Came to teaching in 2010 teaching at a private training company earning my level 3 and 4 teaching qualifications and my assessors award. Since then I have taught in a mixture of FE andprivate centres since, including NAPIT and nearly 5 years at what is now known as City and Guilds training (previously Tradeskills4U) earning qualifications in EV, Solar, Battery storage, as well as my IQA qualification, among others.

Began my apprenticeship with Barlows UK in 2002 where I worked for 10 years completing different types of installs across the sector.
I set up my own company in 2012 which specialised in renewable heating and the high-end domestic sector. During this time, I completed my 2391 testing and inspecting, level 4 design, solar PV and worked towards my HNC in electrical engineering
In 2022 I joined JTL where I trained to become an assessor and supported over 80 learners to become electricians over 3 years. I was also a safeguarding representative.
In December 2025 I came back to where I started and joined Clifford college as a tutor

Chris began his electrical career as an apprentice working on industrial installations, primarily on water treatment sites for United Utilities, developing strong practical skills in demanding environments.
He completed his apprenticeship with JTL and progressed quickly on site, gaining his Testing & Inspection qualification and moving into roles where he was responsible for leading electrical installations.
In 2019, Chris joined JTL as Lead Assessor and Coordinator for on-site delivery, driving standards across NVQ delivery and streamlining the portfolio process to support consistent, high-quality learner achievement.
Chris joined Clifford College in December 2025 as assessor for our Manchester College
